Currently, about 10 new books on parenting are published every day. Over the past 21 years, that would amount to 75,000 books! One would guess that people have the upbringing of their children under control by now. Not at all! Discipline in schools is seriously under pressure. Youth drug abuse is reaching staggering heights. Ditto for violence. Why? Is it because parents have started fearing their children? Or maybe because parents are shifting their responsibilities to teach children God's life principles down to schools and churches? I guess so. And I think I am right when a sensational new book in the USA finds that everything parents buy, from their cars to their houses, are determined by the opinions of children younger than 15 years.
"Who is in control?"
There's only one way out! Parents need to reclaim the responsibility to raise their kids for God. Homes where respect, love and healthy discipline are victorious are God's answer.
Deuteronomy 6 is clear as day on the fact that parents need to discuss God with their children when they go to bed at night and when they wake up in the morning. Also when they are eating and traveling. In short, parents need to glorify God with their kids in their day-to-day life.
